Problem #5 – Is it relevant?

Yes, It can be relevant to me,us,media industry, media technology and our society. This is not only one person’s problem but also all of us problem from now to future.

It is very relevant to our life,our society and ourselves.

Problem #4 – Are you passionate?

Yes I am. I’ve done some research about this topic when I was the third year student at RMIT before, in media industries class. I really enjoyed the research and I decided to do further research about this topic because at that time, I and my group members did very short research (we did it during 1 semester).

Now I am doing honours and I am very glad to do this research topic again. Also this is not just someone’s problem or issue at all. This is my parents, my relatives, my friend’s parents, my neighbors’ and it can be my problem as well. Thus I am very passionate about this research and I hope others have same idea with me.

Problem #3 – Is it viable?

Well, I think it is viable. I read some books so far about my research topic and I realized that this topic is VERY NEW. So anyone who researches about this topic can be the pioneer, I think.

This is very new area so this research is going to be very difficult and also it is going to be very interesting.  Even though it will be hard to find some facts or cases for my research, I will try to enjoying this.

I think my research might be ‘gold mining’ because I have to dig the ground to get results.

Thus, my research topic is viable.

Problem #2 – For who?

My research project is for older people who are over 60 and younger people who will be old in the future.

Firstly, this project is for older people who have problem to use new technologies in new media world, now. They are not stupid at all but they are not familiar with using these NEW technologies. For this reason, I would like to open the door for them to use new technologies and to live comfortable life in the new media world.

Also, this is not only for older people. WHY? We are getting older and someday in the future we will be over 60 as well. Yes, I know that we already know how to use these mobile phone technologies, but who knows? If there will be another very new technologies in front of us, what can we do?
For this reason, I think we have to prepare to the future and very new media world from now on. I am not talking about only ‘Technical’ terms. I am also talking about ‘Social’ terms as well. If we concern more about older people then we can get the answer for both older people and us who will be older as well.

I think the biggest problem is, we don’t care about the older people for using new technologies in this new media world.
